Q: What are the requirements to migrate a account?
A: Please read on
The requirements for a migration are as follows:
1. You must have correct credentials for both source and target account (emailaddress/username/password/servername)
2. Both source and target server must be accessible publicly from the internet on the relevant (IMAP) ports
3. Additional requirements must be met for a groupware migrations, depending on the respective system - please see the manual
Additionally, we recommends that you whitelist our migration server IP ranges on both source and target server, either for all or at least for the IMAP Ports 143 and 993. Doing this is not mandatory, but it can help in some situations.
Our migration server IP ranges are as follows:
116.202.230.0/24
135.181.245.0/24
157.90.36.0/24
49.12.121.0/24
Also, it is recommended that no throttling happens on the source and target server, in order to speed the migration up.
Additionally, it is important that no connection or time limits apply to source or target server.
Especially the 'free mail providers' like gmail, web.de, gmx, freenet, etc apply a daily or hourly traffic/connection/transfer limit to/from the respective account. If this limit has been reached, access to the respective account might get blocked for a certain time. So this is a problem on the email provider side which is beyond our control. We repeat: google, web.de, gmx, freenet and other mail providers, no matter what their name is, is beyond our control.
